The purpose of the altar ministry is to minister to the new believer in the following ways:

• Show and confirm the love of God
• Affirm that Christ has been received and help bring to an understanding that He now lives in his or her heart
• Pray with the individual and identify needs
• Get the new believer connected into the Body of Christ
